"Twin" socks from the other side of the world.
This morning I was randomly lurking around knitting blogs throughout the world when I came across this site called Lilypily Yarns. There I discovered that a knitter from Australia is making a pair of men's socks very similar in color and pattern to the socks that I've started for my Dad. And what's strange is that I compared mine to a pebbly lake shore and likewise, she describes hers as looking like a pebbly beach. The waffle rib pattern shows up on hers much better than it does on those that I'm knitting though.

Spooky! They always say there's a twin somewhere out in the world...this may be your "subconsious" twin.

Oops..just realized the pun I made...not intentional at all. LOL
I checked out Lilypily Yarns too and was fascinated by how much we had in common with our knitting. It's great when the surfing goes full circle. Thanks Heide. Oh, and Mum is much improved and maybe coming out of hospital tomorrow.

Hi Heidi, Thanks for visiting my site and leaving the comments plus the link to my site on your blog. I was just as amazed when I read your comments and saw this pic. Yes, very similiar indeed. Let me compliment you on your taste. (g) Actually the pattern I'm knitting my socks in is garter rib but because they knit up inside-out the wrong side shows and it does look a lot like waffle rib. I'll bookmark your blog and check back to watch your progress with these. :o)
Oh I forgot to say, that yes, I'm using the Sensational Socks book too. :o) Great minds....etc.... :o)
I think your socks are really quite something. They are beautiful and, yes, they do remind me of a pebble beach. Nice photog work, too. I love the yarn and the pattern. Australian duplicate, huh? How cool is that? Talk about a small world. I think I need to check out that site.
