One Week later... and a BIG surprise!

Okay, so it's been an entire week since I've updated anything. Anyway, we've had lots of kid-type activities and illnesses. It's that time of year.

So yesterday I dropped Amber and Autumn off at school and Miss Sherrill had not one, but two HUGE bags of wool. I can't wait for Christmas vacation so I can start experimenting with it! Sherrill is awesome.

Some of the past week's projects have included: another scarf, this one in a combination of Black Cascade 220 and beige mohair

A Felted Bucket Hat from the ChickKnits pattern. This was also done in the Black Cascade 220. It looks rather warped in this picture though because I need to block it.

I've also been trying to finish up several felted purses that were started long, long ago. This one is in serious need of reshaping after two months at the bottom of the WIP basket. This was from the Pink Lady Pattern and it was knit in a Lamb's Pride bulky and some leftover Noro Kureyon. I can't remember the colors of either.

So with only 3 more Christmas presents left to make it seems like the holiday deadline might be feasible after all! This past weekend I also picked up some mohair out at Willow Creek Farm. I would like to try Kool Aid dying this. Any tips about the Kool Aid dye process are greatly appreciated. I've read through the microwave and stove top methods and both seem equally messy. I'll have to do this while Brian is at work or else he'll go crazy (he hates messes). The girls were disappointed too when they discovered that the Kool Aid wasn't for them. They've never had it before. Just one more item they can add to their therapy list as adults.

Have fun with that raw fleece...I soooo love that "barn-fresh" smell.

Thank you for the great preserves (family will love it as well) and the beautiful yarn. Very soft.

You have been a knitting-angel...and I am glad we have gotten to know each other this year...so much knitting to discuss...so little time.

And thanks for the Eunny blog. OMG. When I grow up, I want to be a knitter just like her. Did you see those sweaters and more that she accomplished in 2005...which is not over yet. I'm still in awwwwwe.

Loop-d-Loop is now available at the Pierce county library...I asked for an inter-library transfer from another county library...and whalaaa, they ordered it instead. Which is good, as there is only one pattern in there I truley would make, so not worth the $ to buy.

I will be checking daily to see your progress...hope you get the sidebar back...gotta love html writing.
